Over the last year few years, I have encountered a new group of small business owners, some of whom are entrepreneurs, women, and/or retirees. They are struggling to carve out a living in this rapidly changing business environment we all see today, where change and technology outdates ideas and training rapidly.
What I wish to offer is this:
To be successful, it helps to resist the temptation to be all things to all people. Narrow your services and products to specific areas, in which you may excel, then target customers seeking these services or products. Make it easy for potential customers to know what you offer, how much it will cost, and how quickly they may expect to receive it. If you are vague, customers will leave. If you are specific, they know exactly what you offer, and may refer you to others, even if they do not need your specific services. Take time to refine, and I wish you a successful business venture.
